Chair Registration
The Oxford International Model United Nations (OXIMUN) is a three day event that brings together delegations from across the world to debate the most pressing global issues. The conference is perhaps the most prestigious of its kind in Europe and this year is set to be one of its largest. It is an opportunity to learn about a variety of significant issues and meet people from around the world in a globally renowned centre of learning.
This year’s conference centres on the topic of self determination in an increasingly complex and globalised world. Fitting with this theme, and the pioneering nature of OXIMUN, the conference will feature a two way crisis committee in which a crisis unfolds in many parts of the world with the actions of the different regions having implications for the others as well as a new style of crisis with a formalised method of diplomatic backchanneling. In your role as chair you will play a role in choosing the topics that are discussed.
These are the specific committees that we are recruiting chairs for :
- Advanced Committees: Joint Crisis Committee - Tensions in Europe 1911s, United Nations Security Council, Joint Crisis Committee - Tensions in East Asia 1911
- Intermediate Committees: Special Political and Decolonisation (SPECPOL), United Nations Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC).
- Beginner Committees: United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), World Health Organisation (WHO).
The conference will run from 1-3rd November and will be free for the chairs to attend to attend. Chairs will get free socials package. To apply please fill out the application by 15th August.
